Happy New Years – 2011. METCO has completed our 20th year doing business as METCO. We’ve come a long way since our separation from MRA/MEI McBride, Ratcliff and Associates. We are excited to see what 2011 has in store for us. With the lifting of the Gulf Coast offshore moratorium, an improving economy, an aging US mechanical infrastructure, and rising demand for natural resources, there’s no doubt that our future is bright.
Some highlights about what’s to come in 2011: Our projects group secured its annual PO from Flint Hills Resources for another year of Mechanical Integrity inspection services. Our Coatings & Linings division has made record sales month over month in 2010. It’s likely that sector will double in 2011 with the US government procuring our Third Party Services on a regular basis. Our Houston facility has seen consistent growth with our 36,000 lb lifting capacity and ability to accommodate cumbersome equipment such as BOP’s in our on-site shooting bays. Metallurgical Engineering has generated great success since we opened our metallurgical laboratory four years ago. This department has become a turnkey failure analysis solution for many clients like Flint Hills, Huntsman, Invista, Praxair, and others. Our welding services have expanded its ability with the addition of Controlled Deposition testing and a Pulse Mig welding machine. This has helped clients like CB&I and Zachry choose METCO for their welder certification needs project after project. With all weld and metallurgical services supported by our own mechanical shop, our turnaround time is second-to-none. METCO is poised and ready to help new and existing clients with their logistical challenges with expediting, procurement and third party services. With all departments coordinated seamlessly, 2011 should be a great year for METCO and its employees.
